Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership and Strategy

• Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth and operational goals.

• Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to provide financial insights and recommendations for decision-making.

• Prepare detailed financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses to guide strategic planning.

• Oversee capital investment planning and ensure optimal resource allocation.

Financial Reporting and Compliance

• Direct the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, reports, and budgets.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and industry-specific requirements.

• Oversee internal and external audits, addressing findings, and implementing improvements as needed.

Operational and Cost Management

• Monitor and analyze operational costs related to harvesting, processing, and distribution to identify opportunities for efficiency and savings.

• Implement and maintain robust financial controls and procedures across all departments.

• Lead efforts in inventory valuation and cost accounting to ensure profitability.

Team Leadership and Development

• Manage and mentor the accounting and finance team, ensuring professional growth and alignment with company objectives.

• Foster cross-departmental collaboration to support operational and financial integration.

Risk Management and Decision Support

• Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the company’s long-term sustainability.

• Provide data-driven insights to support critical operational decisions.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.

• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in agriculture, food processing, or manufacturing industries.

• Proven track record in strategic planning, financial reporting, and operational cost management.

Skills and Competencies

• Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis.

• Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory management.

• Proficient in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.

• Excellent leadership and communication skills to engage with executive teams, investors, and operational staff.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, seasonal business environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in the agriculture or food processing industry.

• Familiarity with USDA regulations and food safety compliance requirements.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
