Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Architect to lead the transformation of an on-premise infrastructure into a modern, scalable, and secure Azure-based environment. This is a long-term strategic role requiring a blend of advisory leadership and hands-on expertise in cloud architecture, infrastructure-as-code, and enterprise-grade Azure services.

You will play a key role in shaping the future state of the client’s cloud infrastructure, collaborating closely with project managers, engineering teams, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the planning and execution of a full-scale migration from on-premises services to Azure.

Serve as the technical advisor on all things Azure Infrastructure including compute, storage, networking, identity, and security.

Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures in Azure as well as planning the migration so that it does not disrupt business as usual.

Evaluate the current on-prem stack and work with the customer to create roadmaps and migration strategies.

Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform or Azure Bicep.

Establish cloud governance, policies, and best practices.

Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and collaborate with teams focused on data strategy, engineering, and analytics.

Provide technical mentorship and support for cloud engineering teams.

Stay current on Azure updates, cloud architecture patterns, and emerging best practices.

Qualifications:

Must-Have:

Prior life Sciences industry experience.

5+ years of experience in cloud architecture with a strong emphasis on Azure.

Proven experience with on-prem to Azure migrations in complex enterprise environments.

Strong knowledge of Azure IaaS/PaaS, virtual networks, identity and access (Azure AD), security, monitoring, and cost management.

Experience with DevOps tools and practices (CI/CD, automation, IaC).

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to operate independently in an advisory and implementation capacity. Specific migration experience with Azure SQL and MS SQL Servers

Preferred:

Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate).

Background in traditional infrastructure (servers, networks, storage).

Experience in hybrid environments.

Familiarity with agile project delivery.

Experience evaluating and creating MS SQL stored procedures Experience in setup and configuration of MS Fabric.

Integration experience between Fabric and other on-prem and Azure based service offerings

Familiarity with capabilities and limitations of Copilot

Experience with pharmaceutical industry data and organization structures, specifically within commercial sales.
