Job Description
The Executive Director of the Florida Pest Management Association (FPMA) is a pivotal role operating in service to the association’s members, affiliates, partners, and staff. The primary function of the Executive Director is to oversee the day-to-day, event, and staff operations of FPMA, a 501C-6 trade association with 234 pest management companies, 83 vendor companies and 15 Associate/Affiliate individuals, all holding memberships in the association.
The Executive Director will operate as the CEO of the organization, responsible to the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee for the effective conduct of the administrative, operational, and member needs of the Association. He or she will recommend members of and participate in the board formulation, as well as maintain and monitor the mission, goals, objectives, and related policies. Within this framework, the Executive Director will plan, organize, oversee, lead and direct team members, programs, and the activities of the Association as a whole.

Preferred Qualifications:
Two or more years of association leadership experience strongly preferred
Member development, service, and growth experience preferred
Pest Control industry experience considered a plus
Budget management and development experience
Program development and management expertise
Board relations and staff leadership experience
Specific Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
Support, hire, lead, and manage all new and existing staff members, including one full-time staff (Marketing & Communications), two part-time staff (Members Services, Engagement Specialist), and two third-party contractors (Bookkeeping, Event Planning).
Coordinate meetings, create agendas and generate minutes for:
President’s Meeting (weekly)
Executive Committee (monthly)
Board of Directors (eight time/year)
Membership Committee (Monthly)
Education Committee (Monthly)
Allied Member (two times/year)
Large Member Meeting (two time/year)
Nominating Committee
Budget Committee Meeting (two times/year in the fall)
Annual Business Meeting (one time per year)
Arrange balloting and election of eight Regional and eight Assistant Regional Directors.
Coordinate HQ staff and Directors to set up Regional Meeting and other events.
Market events via email, flyers, and social media.
Prioritize member needs, events, operational needs, and marketing needs effectively.
Arrange call for nominations for Secretary position on the Executive Committee. Arrange interviews with candidates and Nominating Committee.
Oversee staff in generating online and 2 sets of hard copy mailers for dues renewal invoices.
Coordinate staff collection calls.
Develop content, gather content, liaise and proof Pest Pro Magazine with publisher. FPMA Pest Pro is the official magazine of FPMA.
Administer the assets and all administrative areas required to run the association including:
office equipment (computers, printers, office supplies) and storage
Insurance (BOD, General Liability, Workman’s Comp)
Work with Bookkeeper who is responsible for generating monthly financial reports disseminated to the Board of Directors by the 15th of each month.
Oversee the coordination and execution of two signature events (EXPO (January) and Summer Conference (June)) and one biannual event (Legislative Days (April)) with the Event Planner and HQ staff. Coordination activities include:
Venue selection and contracts with hotel and decorator
Pricing determination of attendee packages and sponsorships
Registration and set-up of Master Tracking Sheets
Content and procurement of speakers
Event Marketing
The role of Executive Director is an external facing title. The current bylaws refer to this position as the Executive Vice President and are subject to change in January of 2026 to align the advertised title with the title outlined in the Association’s bylaws.
