Position Overview:
The HRIS Functional Analyst is a critical member of Motiva's HR Data & Systems organization, focused on managing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-based HR systems, including HCM, Learning, Talent, Recruiting, Advanced Compensation, Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking, Benefits, Performance, and Reporting. This role reports to the HRIS Manager and is responsible for overseeing Workday system operations that serve employees across the U.S. and any future international expansions.
The HRIS Functional Analyst will work closely with HR, Operations, IT, and Finance teams to design, develop, and deploy Core HR application deliverables. This position serves as a point of contact to key HR stakeholders to design, implement and troubleshoot Workday HRIS. This role will drive HR synergies across the business by promoting automation, data integrity, system and business process efficiencies, and reporting outputs. In addition, this position requires leadership in strategic planning, project coordination, and system optimization while ensuring high-quality customer service for employees, managers, and vendors.
Additionally, this role will work with functional Subject Matter Experts in support of system updates, break fixes, and enhancements, as part of their participation in Motiva's HR Systems Governance process. This role must have knowledge of core design principals, common configuration and documentation activities, have "customer" facing experience, and a successful track record of delivering solutions.

Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and implement functional, data, and reporting solutions for HR applications, with a focus on Workday.
Manage both new configurations/enhancements and optimize the current scope to ensure best practices for cloud technologies are followed.
Collaborate with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless system integration.
Create and maintain documentation to ensure compliance with Motiva policies and legislative requirements.
Lead efforts to drive standardization, improve service delivery, and share best practices across the organization.
Partner with HR, Finance, IT, and COEs to improve workflow efficiency and transactional experiences.
Promote innovative approaches to using technology to address business challenges and enhance customer understanding of system capabilities.
Use project management skills to organize, plan, and execute annual HR events and respond to changing business needs.
Ensure timely delivery of projects by adhering to the release management schedule.
Mentor junior team members and ensure compliance with audit and security protocols.
Achieve joint HR/IT performance goals and support the continuous improvement of HR service delivery. Experience and Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Technology, Human Resources, or related field. Equivalent professional experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
5 plus years of experience with SAAS ERP products (e.g., Workday, SAP) in setup, configuration, testing, and administration.
Workday Security Setup: Expertise in configuring security within Workday, focusing on organizational or role-based security.
Experience supporting HR or Payroll departments and integrating systems with third-party vendors.
Proficiency in developing custom reporting solutions.
Experience working in a matrix or Shared Services environment, including case management and governance.
Ability to translate functional requirements into design documentation and system specifications.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in change management and stakeholder collaboration.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
High-level understanding of key HR business processes. Preferred Education and Experience:
4-6 years of experience implementing Recruiting, Learning, and HCM solutions with ERP software (e.g., Workday, SAP, Salesforce).
2+ years of managed support experience.
Workday certification (current or past) is a plus.
Familiarity with HR-related laws (EEO, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, ERISA) is a plus.
Experience in regulated industries (Oil/Gas, Pharma, Health Care) is a plus.
