Position Overview:

As a Materials Laboratory Technician, you will perform vital duties related to the chemical analysis, testing, and investigation of metal samples and alloys. Your work will contribute to product certification and metallurgical control while aiding in the development of new and improved grades and types of alloys.

Your Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain lab instrumentation and testing equipment following established procedures.

Identify alloy samples using lab equipment.

Manage and maintain all data, reports, and communications as directed by work instructions.

Ensure compliance with procedures meeting the requirements of NADCAP, AS9100, ISO17025, and other OEM accreditations.

Follow customer specifications, industry standards, quality control documents, and work instructions.

Participate in round robin testing, both internal and external.

Adhere to all safety policies, practices, and procedures.

Be willing to work overtime, evenings, and weekends as required.

Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Education: A minimum of a high school diploma with professional materials lab experience, or an associate's degree in Material Science, Chemistry, or a related field.

Language Skills: Ability to read, understand, and comprehend documents, and communicate effectively with team members, engineers, and leadership.

Mathematical Skills: Proficient in basic arithmetic and the use of measuring devices.

Reasoning Ability: Capable of solving problems involving several concrete variables and following written, oral, and diagram instructions.

Reliability: Must be dependable, available for overtime as needed, and committed to working at our Chittenango, NY facility.
