Position Summary
As the Master Electrician and Estimator, you will play a dual role in ensuring the electrical systems we deliver meet the highest standards of quality and compliance while providing accurate and competitive estimates for projects. This position requires a deep understanding of electrical systems, cost estimation, project management, and collaboration with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Master Electrician Duties:
Oversee and manage the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial and industrial projects.
Ensure all electrical work complies with and local electrical codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to electricians and apprentices on-site.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues during project execution.
Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to project timelines.
Estimator Duties:
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical components of MEP projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project scope and requirements.
Review blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to identify electrical work requirements.
Research and analyze historical data, vendor pricing, and market trends to ensure competitive bidding.
Present cost estimates and proposals to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment with project goals.
Qualifications:
Licensure: Active Master Electrician license in the state of Texas (required).
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical work, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or estimator role.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or degrees in electrical engineering or construction management are a plus.
Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and industry best practices.
Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Accubid, ConEst, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
