Our Associate General Counsel will support our business with all regulatory and legal matters. They will be responsible for overseeing loan-level litigation, assisting on title, servicing, operations, and other-related legal projects, as well as generally supporting the business. This role requires 100% onsite attendance in our Pontiac office.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Overseeing and managing loan-level litigation and legal issues
Supporting and advising various business units on legal projects
Performing pre-litigation work to minimize risks and maximize legal rights
Providing business support on a variety of regulatory and legal matters
Reviewing business relationships with vendors
Conducting legal research on unique legal issues impacting the organization
Keeping abreast of legislative changes that may affect the Company
Providing legal training to Company team members
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Must Have Qualifications:
Michigan bar licensed attorney
5+ years of experience performing corporate legal work
Experience in the mortgage banking, banking, loan servicing, or financial industry
Strong leadership and communication skills
Have effective planning, organizational and project management skills
Be able to manage multiple projects and tasks effectively
Have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
Have excellent written and communication skills
Have the ability to work independently
Have critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills.
Be self-motivated and able to work well in a team based environment
