We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager for a fire remediation and debris removal project in Chico, CA. This is a pivotal role for a safety professional skilled in implementing effective safety programs and overseeing multiple crews in high-risk environments.

Type: 1099 Contractor
Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $49 - $52/HR
Per Diem: $150/day
Pay Schedule: Weekly
Mileage: On the job, mileage reimbursement is @ .70 cents per mile.
Schedule:
60+ hours per week
First shift: 10-12 hour days, Monday through Saturday
Scope of Work:
The Safety Manager will oversee 3-5 crews working on fire remediation and debris removal within a 20-mile radius of Chico, CA. This individual will lead efforts to enforce safety regulations, foster a safety-driven culture, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and enforce company safety policies through interaction with field leaders and employees.
Conduct site surveys to assess compliance and address potential hazards.
Lead daily safety meetings and provide hands-on training.
Investigate incidents and near-misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
Deliver training on OSHA standards and other critical safety topics.
Track progress of preventative measures following incident investigations.
Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of CalOSHA and OSHA standards
OSHA 10/30 certification required; CHST, CSP, or CIH preferred
First Aid/CPR certification
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
