Shifts: We currently have a night shift available (4 PM-4 AM) which includes some weekend work, a $3.00 per hour shift differential, and paid lunch.

Position Overview:

As a Material/Metallurgical Lab Technician, you will perform essential duties related to chemical analysis, tests, and investigations on metal samples, alloys, or other process materials for product certification, metallurgical control, and the development of new or improved alloys.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Operate and maintain lab instrumentation and testing equipment according to established procedures.

Perform alloy identification of samples using lab equipment.

Assist in managing and maintaining all data, forms, reports, testing, and communications as directed.

Comply with procedures that meet NADCAP, AS9100, ISO17025, and other required OEM accreditations.

Adhere to customer specifications, industry standards, quality control documents, and work instructions.

Participate in internal and external round robin testing.

Follow all safety policies, practices, and procedures.

Work overtime as needed, including evenings and weekends.

Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Perform other responsibilities as required by management.

Qualifications:

Education: A minimum of a high school diploma with professional materials lab experience or an associate's degree in Material Science, Chemistry, or a related field is required.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend documents and effectively communicate with team members and leadership.

Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in basic arithmetic and the use of gages and measuring devices.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to handle problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

Reliability: Must demonstrate commitment to working at our Chittenango, NY facility and the ability to work overtime if needed.
