Role Description: mainframe support L2,Required Skills Strong hands-on experience with Z/OS, JCL, COBOL, DB2, VSAM . Experience in scheduling tools like CA7 or Control-M. Familiarity with mainframe monitoring and debugging tools (e.g., SYSVIEW, Abend-AID, File-Aid Sound understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management). Good problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze logs and data dumps. Strong communication skills for stakeholder interaction and issue documentation.Key Responsibilities Provide Level 2 (L2) support for mainframe-based applications in batch and online processing environments. Investigate job failures, abends, and performance issues using tools like CA7, Control-M, SYSVIEW, Abend-Aid, and File-Aid. Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions. Escalate critical incidents to L3/Development teams and follow through on resolution. Coordinate with upstream/downstream teams during incident resolution and deployments. Participate in change management processes - reviewing changes, preparing back-out plans, and performing implementation validations. Support scheduled DR (Disaster Recovery) drills, audits, and SOX/GDPR compliance activities. Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), knowledge articles, and runbooks.
