Basic Purpose:
The Center Aide is responsible for assisting in the development and facilitation of all recreational and educational activities in conjunction with the Activities Coordinator. The Center Aide may also work in the kitchen assisting in the preparation and service of food to the seniors.
This position is 37.50 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Paid Time Off Summary of Responsibilities:
Assists the Activities Coordinator or Center Director in planning and presenting of special programs.
Assists the Activities Coordinator in planning and arranging regular center programs and trips for participants at Center of assignment, as well as cooperating in planning and arranging programs and trips for the entire agency.
Assists in trip sign-up.
Conducts in-center activities in the absence of instructors.
Responsible for conducting socialization and recreational activities in the Center when assigned.
Encourages clients to participate in all Center activities.
Assists in the clean up of organization program materials.
Provides statistical reports as requested.
Escorts outside trips.
Participates in outreach efforts through community activities; examples of the class and activities which may be facilitated by the Center Aide are discussion groups, exercises, birthday parties and intergenerational programs and sewing.
Prepares and/or assists in preparation of meals, snacks and beverages.
Continuously cleans food service work areas as food preparation and service is completed.
Uses all kitchen equipment according to manufacturer instructions. Follows proper cleaning techniques and preventative maintenance schedules.
Handles, stores and disposes of food supplies and prepares food in accordance with department procedures and in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Certification: None
Education: High school diploma
Experience: Direct experience working with older individuals, familiar with database systems and Microsoft Excel.
