Position Overview:
The CDL Truck Driver is responsible for transporting feed, grain, and/or ingredients, and livestock safely and efficiently. Drivers are required to maintain logs, adhere to all state/federal regulations, perform inspections before and after each trip, and unload product from trailer to facility.
Driver Roles:
GRAIN & INGREDIENTS: Deliver Tosh grain being sold to customers, and pick up ingredients from suppliers to be used in animal feed. During harvest (Sept-Nov), these drivers also participate in field hauling (see role below). This driver role is best for drivers looking for several round trips each day.
FIELD HAULING: Seasonal work during fall harvest. Trailers are loaded with grains as harvested in the field, and driver brings grain back to Tosh elevators in Henry, TN for drop off. Many loads per day! Looong days during harvest. This driver role is best for those looking for significant work hours during Fall harvest.
What You Do:
Drive & operate trucks while obeying all traffic laws, DOT regulations and company procedures/policies
Professionally deliver feed, grain, and livestock according to schedule
Inspect trucks for safety prior to driving as well as at the end of trip
Keep a log of all working hours/miles driven
Use tablet or other computer device for deliveries
Communicate in a courteous and professional manner while interacting with coworkers, customers, vendors
Maintain a clean driving record and report any accidents/violations immediately
Champion of a safety culture
Performs other duties as assigned Who You Are
A valid class A CDL
A valid Med Certification
2 years of driving experience
Acceptable driving & criminal record
No DUI/DWI convictions in the past 5 years
Excellent listening and verbal communications Physical Requirements:
Ability to pass and maintain DOT medical certificate
If hauling livestock, you must meet the physical requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 80 pounds infrequently
Take tire chains on/off during winter weather conditions, as needed
Ability to sit prolonged periods of time
Ability to operate heavy equipment
Ability to walk, stand, kneel, stoop, climb frequently
Ability to work days/nights/weekends, extra days and hours to support business needs
Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug tests in accordance with DOT and company rules and regulations What's in it for you:
