Position Summary

The qualified candidate will perform duties and responsibilities necessary to support the area to which they are assigned.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.

Paraprofessional Approval (State and Federal) required for Special Education Assistant.

Should be neat, thorough, industrious and have knowledge of school procedures.

Requires good communication skills and the ability to work well with students and staff.

Must be able to handle difficult situations with diplomacy and good judgment.

Requires basic organizational, clerical and computer skills with the ability to operate commonly used office equipment.

May require intermediate computer knowledge and troubleshooting skills.

May require a valid drivers license.

May require musical accompaniment skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Not all inclusive)

High School diploma or equivalent.

Must be organized, thorough, industrious. Should be able to take initiative in order to problem solve.

Must have appropriate computer office software experience including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Suite programs.

Must have the ability to operate office equipment, perform some data entry, maintain records and scheduling.

Should have good written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact constructively with others.

Must demonstrate strong organizational skills.

Must maintain confidentiality with regards to student records. Knowledge and Skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as correspondence, surveys and electronic media.

Ability to write professional communications

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely

Ability to complete and apply basic mathematics concepts

Ability to respond to questions from individuals and groups

Ability to communicate clearly and concisely

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

Work is usually conducted at one job site, however, on occasion, this employee will be required to attend meetings, conferences, or workshops and events at other sites as assigned.
