8 Hours Per Day (7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. includes 1 Hour unpaid lunch)

SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The Systems Administrator is a key member of the Systems and Security team, responsible for supporting the district's administrative and educational technology needs by managing desktop infrastructure, software deployment, and enterprise systems. This position focuses on building and maintaining Windows desktop images, deploying updates through tools like Configuration Manager and Intune, and ensuring system reliability and security. The Systems Administrator collaborates with Support Services to resolve escalated issues, provides technical guidance, and helps ensure consistent, professional support across the district.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Develop, deploy and maintain Windows desktop images and software packages using Configuration Manager, Microsoft Intune, Group Policy, and related tools.

Install, configure, and support enterprise-level software and operating systems to ensure consistent and secure functionality across the district.

Manage and apply critical updates (operating system, software, and firmware) using WSUS, Configuration Manager, and Intune, ensuring timely compliance with security standards.

Deliver technical training and guidance to end users and other technology staff to promote effective use of equipment, applications, and network systems.

Assist with backup administration and contribute to the development, testing, and maintenance of disaster recovery and business continuity plan.

Administer user permissions and access controls across systems and applications, ensuring alignment with district policies and data security protocols.

Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with evolving technologies, district procedures, and relevant state and federal regulations.

Evaluate and test new applications, tools, and system upgrades to provide technical feedback and support informed procurement and deployment decisions.

Create and maintain documentation for Information Technology services, infrastructure, and incident response procedures to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing.

Lead the resolution of complex technical issues and escalated incidents in collaboration with the Support Services team, providing advances troubleshooting, guidance, and mentorship to ensure timely and effective outcomes.

Collaborate with staff, vendors, technology partners, and community members on the planning and implementation of hardware, software, and network upgrades to support the district's technology initiatives.

Travel between sites to provide support as needed.

Monitor networked systems and escalate infrastructure issues when appropriate.

Provide on-call and after-hours support as scheduled or required.

Perform strong interpersonal, communication, and time-management skills while maintaining a calm, solution-focused approach to high-priority technology issues in support of staff at all levels. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT NECESSARY:

Standard office equipment and technology including desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices, printers, telephony systems, and enterprise IT tools necessary to perform the essential functions of the position, such as management platforms including Microsoft Entra, Intune, and Active Directory.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate's degree in technology or equivalent work experience required.

Minimum two years of network or systems administration experience in an enterprise environment.

Experience working with Configuration Manager, Group Policy, and related Microsoft deployment tools, such as Intune and WSUS.

Understanding of TCP/IP networking and networking security principles, including network segmentation, user authentication, firewalls, and endpoint protection.

Strong understanding of Windows operating systems and Active Directory.

Familiarity with enterprise backup administration, including rotation and retention policies.

Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python desired.

Relevant certifications such as MCSA, MCSE, or Network+ desired.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and respond calmly in high-pressure situations.

Proven ability to troubleshoot, document, and resolve complex technical issues independently or as part of a team.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Must possess a current valid motor vehicle license and be able to travel from location to location.

Must possess a mobile phone with a data plan and be willing to install and use multi-factor authentication (MFA) apps such as Duo, Google Authenticator, or Microsoft Authenticator as required for system access.
