MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT POSITION PROFILE The City of Pearland offers a rewarding opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic Management Assistant to provide technical and strategic support to the Director of Finance and Budget Officer, which includes but is not limited to financial administration, and development and implementation of strategic and managerial projects.

ABOUT THE POSITION The Management Assistant will develop, plan, and implement management and organizational strategic projects by conducting research, performing statistical analysis and preparing formal and ad-hoc reports for the director and City management consideration.

You will make suggestions for applications of technology and shared services to reduce costs and increase productivity within the Finance department.

Additionally on your plate is conducting cost analysis, rate analysis, revenue projections and other financial analysis to determine feasibility of projects and programs.

Additionally, you will assist in the collection and analysis of information, research trends in financial management and operations, and serve as a source of information for topics such as demographic trends and infrastructure issues relative to Pearland.

IDEAL CANDIDATE The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to interact effectively and courteously with residents, management staff, and other employees both verbally and in writing.

The ability to deliver a high level of customer service in assisting and following up with citizen concerns is highly desired.

The ideal Management Assistant will be an important contributor in meeting the City's performance goals and plans by taking personal responsibility for overall team results and be able to take the initiative to see projects through to completion.

Regular and timely attendance, flexibility and a willingness to perform other assigned duties necessary for success of the organization is essential.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE The chosen candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration or a related field, with two to three years of experience working for a municipality in an entry-level generalist management position.

A Master's degree is preferred.

Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities, necessary to success will be considered.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The City of Pearland offers a competitive salary range in the low to mid $60's, depending on qualifications and experience.

The City participates in the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) at a 7% employee deposit rate with a municipal matching ratio of 2:1.
