Key Responsibilities:
Participate in strategic planning and project selection meetings
Attend pre-bid and job walk meetings
Analyze plans, specs, and geotechnical reports to develop accurate bids
Determine self-perform vs subcontract scope
Solicit bids from suppliers, subcontractors, and DBE/SBE vendors when applicable
Perform or coordinate quantity takeoffs and cost estimating
Propose alternative methods for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Present estimates in bid reviews with management
Collaborate with project management to transition awarded projects
Identify high-risk activities and include related safety costs in estimates
Qualifications:
5+ years of construction experience, ideally in commercial site grading, paving, and utilities
5+ years of heavy civil estimating and bidding experience
Familiarity with HCSS and AGTEK is preferred
Strong ability to read and interpret grading, drainage, foundation, and roadway plans
Capable of performing basic takeoffs and analyzing productivity rates
Understanding of heavy equipment capabilities and limitations
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency
Excellent decision-making, time management, and communication skills
Experience in planning, negotiation, and vendor coordination
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
