Position Overview
The Lead Mitigation Technician plays a crucial leadership role in directing and executing restoration projects related to water, fire, mold, and storm damage. This is not just a technical position — it is a field leadership role requiring the ability to manage crews, oversee complex projects, ensure safety and compliance, and deliver exceptional client experiences. This role is ideal for a confident, experienced restoration professional who thrives in high-responsibility environments and is committed to leading by example. Emergency response availability after hours and on weekends is required.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage mitigation field teams, ensuring high performance and accountability
Conduct property and structural damage assessments to determine restoration needs
Oversee and participate in water extraction, drying, and cleanup operations
Implement mold remediation, fire restoration, and asbestos abatement procedures
Train and mentor technicians, promoting skill development and best practices
Operate restoration tools and equipment safely and efficiently
Maintain accurate project documentation using industry-standard software
Communicate directly with clients, providing updates and managing expectations
Enforce strict safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards
Participate in rotating on-call schedule for emergency response
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in mitigation/restoration, with proven leadership experience
WRT certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Strong knowledge of mold remediation and asbestos abatement processes
Comfortable lifting 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in various site conditions
Excellent leadership and team supervision skills
Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
Effective communication skills with clients and team members
Availability for after-hours, night, and weekend emergencies
Work Schedule
Full-time, with rotating on-call availability for emergency response outside of regular business hours.
