We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled HR Compliance and Audit Manager to join our manufacturing plant’s HR team. The role involves ensuring that all HR processes and activities comply with internal policies, external regulations, and industry standards. The specialist will lead and support audits across various HR areas, including social audits, security audits, and ISO audits, while maintaining a strong commitment to legal compliance, employee welfare, and organizational integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
1. HR Compliance and Audits:
Conduct Social Audits:
Regularly evaluate compliance with social, labor, and ethical standards, including labor rights, fair wages, working conditions, employee health and safety, non-discrimination, and diversity.
Review employee benefits programs, grievance mechanisms, and worker participation practices.
Work closely with HR and other departments to implement improvements where non-compliance or risks are identified.
Conduct audits like SMETA, BSCI, SA-8000
Oversee Security Audits:
Assess compliance with workplace security policies, including physical security, access control, emergency protocols, and safety training.
Audits include C-TPAT, SCAN
Conduct thorough reviews of workplace safety protocols and ensure that all security measures are being followed (e.g., surveillance systems, keycard access, safety signage).
Identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions to ensure employee and organizational safety.
Coordinate with security teams to audit the effectiveness of security-related training programs and emergency response drills.
Lead ISO Audits:
Manage and perform ISO audits (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) focusing on quality management, environmental sustainability, and occupational health & safety compliance.
Monitor processes to ensure ISO standards are being adhered to within HR policies, practices, and employee management systems.
ISO - Quality, Environment, OHSAS, Enrgery, IY audits
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure continuous improvement initiatives are in place to maintain ISO certifications.
Prepare audit documentation and assist in the preparation for external audits or certifications.
2. Compliance Monitoring and Reporting:
Develop, implement, and maintain regular audit schedules across HR functions.
Prepare and present audit reports to management, highlighting findings, trends, and areas of concern.
Provide recommendations for corrective actions and work with relevant stakeholders to address non-compliance issues.
Track the effectiveness of corrective actions and ensure they are implemented in a timely manner.
3. Risk Management and Legal Compliance:
Monitor changes in local, state, and national labor laws and regulations to ensure the organization’s compliance.
Identify potential compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, working closely with legal counsel as necessary.
Assist in preparing for regulatory inspections, government audits, and investigations.
Ensure that HR-related documents and records are maintained and stored in accordance with legal requirements (e.g., retention schedules).
4. Continuous Improvement:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance compliance in HR practices and audit processes.
Collaborate with HR leadership and cross-functional teams to develop best practices and streamline compliance and audit procedures.
Stay up-to-date on emerging trends and best practices in HR compliance and auditing, particularly within the manufacturing industry.
Key Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree or certification (e.g., ISO Auditor Certification, SHRM-CP, or PHR) is preferred.
Experience:
At least 10 years of experience in HR compliance, audit, or a related field, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong experience in performing social, security, and ISO audits.
Knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and compliance regulations.
