Job Title: General Manager – Automotive Manufacturing (Tier 1, Injection Molding)
Location: Charlotte, MI
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer / CEOPosition Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our clients operations of our Tier 1 automotive manufacturing facility, with a strong focus on injection molding processes. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of launching and scaling both greenfield and brownfield sites, driving operational excellence, and achieving aggressive sales growth and profit targets. This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the entire plant operations, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all aspects of manufacturing operations including production, quality, engineering, maintenance, and supply chain.
Drive performance metrics related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement.
Oversee and execute successful launches of greenfield and brownfield manufacturing facilities, including site selection, staffing, equipment installation, and production ramp-up.
Lead injection molding operations and ensure technical excellence in molding processes and tooling.
Develop and implement strategic plans to increase sales revenue and profitability, working closely with commercial, finance, and business development teams.
Maintain strong relationships with OEM customers and ensure flawless program launches and ongoing customer satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations including EHS standards.
Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across all functions.
Develop annual budgets and long-range plans, and monitor financial performance against key targets.
Build and mentor high-performing teams; foster a collaborative and accountable workplace culture.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in the automotive manufacturing sector, preferably with a Tier 1 supplier.
Deep expertise in injection molding and related production technologies.
Demonstrated success in launching and managing both greenfield and brownfield manufacturing operations.
Strong financial acumen with experience in growing sales, improving margins, and managing multi-million dollar P&L responsibility.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement certification is a plus.Compensation & Benefits:
