Acutronic is looking for a Mechanical Engineer III to join our team in Austin, TX. In this role, you will have broad responsibility and ownership of New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from proposal through qualification testing and production support. The individual filling this role will have significant influence on the development of the product line and the advancement of Acutronic Actuation in the marketplace.
Mechanical Engineer III
Your Roles/Responsibilities:
Perform detailed mechanical design of EM actuation systems including:
Gearing and bearing design and analysis
Structural analysis
Analysis and specification of ancillary EM components (clutches, brakes, position sensors, etc.)
Tolerance stack-up of precision assemblies
Support proposal efforts in a fast-paced aerospace environment
Creation and ownership of CAD models
Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) (structural and thermal)
Create detailed component and assembly drawings
Your Profile/Qualifications/Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university, required
Master’s Degree in Engineering, preferred
At least ten years of engineering experience, required
Familiarity with common aerospace materials and process specification and application
Professional, customer centric attitude and communication
