Description

Responsible for fitting and welding carbon steel and stainless steel parts, ensuring work meets specifications for quality, accuracy, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Fit, position, and tack weld parts using jigs, fixtures, or clamps.

Select appropriate torch, filler, and settings based on materials and specs.

Perform various welding techniques (including overhead and vertical).

Inspect and finish welds; grind, chip, and clean as needed.

Interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and weld maps.

Track materials and maintain a clean work environment.

Perform minor machining and operate cranes safely.

Adhere to safety procedures and quality standards.

Complete other tasks as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

High school diploma or GED; 1–3 months of relevant experience preferred.

ASME IX certification preferred.

Proficiency with welding tools, inspection instruments, and basic manual machining.

Strong understanding of set-up, rigging, and metalworking techniques.

Ability to read technical drawings and AWS symbols.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Epicor ERP is a plus.
