Reporting Accountability: Associate Marketing and Communications Director
Working Location: On-Site in Waterloo, Iowa
Working Hours: Full-Time, 8am-5pm CST Monday-Friday, for a 3-month duration over the summer months (typically May - August)
Position Summary: As a Graphic Design and Marketing Intern with VGM HOMELINK, you will gain valuable work experience in a professional environment, leveraging prior experience, education, and involvement. Our interns play an essential role in the departments they are part of, working on important responsibilities, special projects, and networking with our teams.
You will work with the marketing team in VGM HOMELNK. You will provide support for design, event planning, and digital marketing services. You will be expected to showcase a portfolio of the graphic design and marketing materials you have designed and created as part of the interview process.
Responsibilities/Duties of the Job
Support production design needs:
Update templated marketing materials
Create social media graphics
Assist with external and internal campaign assets
Perform tasks to support marketing strategy and branding
Provide account marketing and stewardship support
Coordinate event planning and support & assist with tradeshow and event creative assets
Perform email marketing, social media, and basic design tasks to support the marketing team
Complete other duties assigned by leadership
Position Qualifications
Education and experience:
Experience and strong foundational knowledge in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
A portfolio of the graphic design and marketing work you have designed and created
High school diploma/GED required
Current student at a 2-or-4-year college or university preferred
Must comply with continuing education per Company, Regulatory, Contractual, and Accreditation requirements’
Skills and competencies:
Strong collaboration skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
Excellent communication skills
Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage time effectively and efficiently
Ancillary healthcare, transportation, and language services referral coordination, and/or Workers’ Compensation industry experience a plus
Physical Requirements:
Operation of office equipment and using technology efficiently such as computers, phones, misc. office equipment
Visual abilities to include reading, distance vision and peripheral vision
Moving throughout the VGM facilities when needed.
