About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Pest Control Technician Lead with excellent leadership skills and a willingness to learn to join our company. In this role, you will be trained to step into an Operations Manager position over time to manage our Mosquito Mike franchise. As a Lead Technician, you will oversee property inspections, identify pest-related issues, and apply effective pest control solutions. In addition, you'll gain valuable experience in managing human resources and learning how to run a business efficiently. Your leadership will ensure our clients enjoy pest-free environments while preventing future infestations. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the safety and comfort of our clients by eliminating pests and preventing future infestations as well as growing the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend business seminars and company training.
Conduct thorough inspections of residential and commercial properties to identify pest issues.
Apply appropriate mosquito control treatments, including the use of pesticides and other methods.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and answering questions.
Supervise and support team members, helping to foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
Learn and develop skills in HR management, including recruitment, team development, and performance management.
Collaborate with the management team to improve operational processes and ensure efficient business growth.
Requirements:
Commercial Pesticide Applicator License valid in the State of Virginia (Required for consideration).
High school diploma or equivalent.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in pest control operations.
Knowledge of common pesticide treatment methods.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and make sound decisions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with team members and customers.
Prior experience and ability to lead and manage a team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
Willingness to travel for 1-2 weeks in Massachusetts for training.
Physical ability to lift up to 50 Lbs.
Knowledge of the pest control industry and regulations is a plus.
Skills:
Drive: Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Hand tools: Proficient in using various hand tools for pest control applications.
Power tools: Experience using power tools for pest control tasks is advantageous.
Sales: Basic sales skills to upsell services or products to clients.
Farm machinery: Familiarity with operating farm machinery is a plus.
Computers: Proficiency with computer use and basic software tools (Word, Excel)Company Description
