Engineering Civil Environmental and Geodetic Engineering

Research Technician 3 will provide advanced technical support for ongoing research activities within the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geodetic Engineering. Under the supervision of Research Associate Professor Tarunjit Butalia, this position will assist with various aspects of experimental design, data collection and analysis, and laboratory operations. The role is ideal for an individual with strong technical skills, research experience, and an interest in supporting engineering-based scientific investigations.

Hiring Range: $17.31 - $22.77

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, geosciences, or a related field. At least two to three years of relevant experience in a laboratory setting. Strong attention to detail with demonstrated experience in data management & documentation. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment. Proficient in multi-tasking problem-solving and critical thinking. Ability to work independently and perform duties without well defined procedures. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

Desired Qualifications: Master’s degree or equivalent experience, three plus years of relevant experience preferred. Previous experience in civil/environmental engineering or geotechnical research. Proficiency in data visualization or analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, GIS). Experience training and supervising lab staff or students.
