Description
Noisy Creek—the parent company of The Stranger, Portland Mercury, Everout, and Bold Type Tickets—is looking for a talented Full Stack Developer to join our engineering team. Our team is currently working on several exciting projects including our new event ticketing system, significant evolution of our event discovery platform, EverOut, ongoing work on our publication websites, and more.
The Role
We're seeking a developer who is passionate about building high-quality, user-friendly web sites and applications. We’re a small team with big ambitions. We all help out in all phases of development, and we’re often contributing to multiple projects at once across multiple platforms and frameworks. Our most significant current project is a major rebuild of our event ticketing system (Bold Type Tickets), but you'll also be working on our other core products including EverOut, The Stranger, Portland Mercury, and other projects as they arise.
What You'll Do
Design and implement key systems and features for a major new version of our event ticketing system, Bold Type Tickets
Collaborate on evolving our growing EverOut platform
Other Noisy Creek products and projects as needed or assigned
Write clean, maintainable code across the full stack (frontend and backend)
Participate in product discovery, feature planning, code reviews, and architecture discussions
Work closely with company leadership and internal and external partners to translate requirements into technical solutions
Help improve our development practices and technical standardsRequirements
Proficiency in Python and Django
Experience with Next.js and/or React
Solid understanding of RESTful APIs
Familiarity with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
Experience with relational databases
Ability to write clean and maintainable code
An obsessive concern with exceptional user experience
Strong problem-solving skills and outstanding attention to detailNice to Have
Experience with ticketing or event management systems
Experience in media or publishing
Knowledge of AWS or other cloud servicesAdditional Information
This is a full-time, exempt, position. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, and we work on a hybrid remote/in-person model. Applicants should live in the Seattle metro area, or have the ability to relocate for the job.Benefits

Salary
The developer position has a starting salary of $95,000/yr.Requirements:
