Local HVAC Contractor is looking for a Financial Controller.
This role is critical to ensuring the financial success and operational efficiency of the company. The successful candidate will oversee all accounting operations, implement internal controls, manage financial reporting, and ensure full compliance with industry regulations and standards.

Essential Job Function:
Timely financial reporting
Monthly financial statements
Maintaining efficient internal controls
Adherence to accounting policies and other company policies and procedures
Process benefit enrollments
Resolve client billing issues
Weekly payroll
Prepare monthly union reports
Review accounts receivable and payables
Close the books monthly
Promptly process necessary taxes and fees
Assist with audits
Reconcile all Balance Sheet accounts at month end and update General Ledger
Monthly and annual general journal entries as needed
Manage Work-In-Progress accounting
Prepare work papers annually for CPA
Reconcile accounts
Job Title: Controller
Compensation: $160-180,000/year
Work Hours: 7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting
5+ years of financial closing experience (month-end and year-end)
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
3+ years in a supervisory role
Computer-based spreadsheets and reporting
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated core leadership skills
Ability to engage collaboratively across departments, sharing knowledge and supporting team success across roles and responsibilities
Ability to motivate and encourage others
Demonstrate strength in understanding human relationships and connections
Ability to confront issues head-on using tact and diplomacy
Ability to create/direct sound business strategy and adhere to the plan
Ability to follow directions with written processes/procedures
Strong understanding of financial and managerial accounting principles
Proficient in reading, interpreting, analyzing financial statements and recommending changes needed to improve performance
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Timely in all work and exceptional time management skills
Ability to live and demonstrate the company's mission, vision, and value statements
Strong understanding of fundamental payroll and associated taxes and benefits and how they apply to the actual cost of labor
