Job Description
We are looking for an experienced AS400/RPG Developer to join our team in Lancaster, Texas. In this long-term contract role, you will play a pivotal role in designing, programming, and improving software applications that meet organizational needs. This position requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and maintaining iSeries systems, ensuring seamless operations and performance.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and enhance program applications to address business requirements.
• Create ad hoc programs and reports based on requests from management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware application issues to maintain uninterrupted operations.
• Participate in a rotational on-call schedule to provide support for iSeries systems.
• Ensure programs follow structured software design principles for scalability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement system improvements.
• Document program changes and maintain accurate records for future reference.• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Programming, or a related field; or an Associate’s degree with at least two years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of structured software design principles.
• Proficiency in AS400 RPG, IBM RPG/400, and RPG/400.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Prior experience in transportation-related programming is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
