Job Title: Forklift Operator

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator with a background in warehouse operations. The ideal candidate should possess stand-up forklift experience and hold a Class 4 or 5 forklift certification, preferably obtained within the last two years. Responsibilities include picking, packing, shipping, and receiving, along with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods. Previous warehouse, material handling, or inventory experience is required, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Receive and unload freight manually or with equipment.

Check for damaged goods and verify quantity and quality of orders.

Deliver received products to appropriate locations.

Ensure shipments are properly packaged and identified for shipment.

Ensure orders picked match pick lists.

Palletize products for ease of customer receipt and efficient truck loading.

Transfer finished goods from racks and storage to pallets for shipment.

Pick orders and prepare them for shipment.

Replenish inventory by placing produced products in warehouse locations.

Participate in physical inventories and maintain inventory records.

Respond to shipping requests from various departments.

Operate stand-up forklifts safely.

Pack spools of wire into packaging and inspect finished products for quality.

Cut wire to specified footage and re-spool wire for shipment.

Perform functions of receiving, storing stock and materials, and loading trucks.

Maintain work area housekeeping and organization.

Use wireless scanners to process orders.

Organize the warehouse as instructed.

Set up machines and ensure all operations are controlled with appropriate settings.

Verify wire sizes and colors for cuts and ensure labels are printed legibly.

Spool, wrap, and label products.Essential Skills

Forklift certification (Class 4 or 5) within the last 2 years.

Stand-up forklift experience in a manufacturing environment (2 years).

Valid driver's license.

Previous warehouse, material handling, or inventory experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with shipping and receiving.

Experience with picking, packing, palletizing, and using RF scanners.

Work Environment

Work in an industrial environment with various machines for making and coiling copper wires. The large warehouse features tall shelves for product storage. Despite being an industrial setting, it is clean and orderly. Utilize stand-up forklifts and reach trucks for warehouse tasks. There are three shifts available: Day Shift (Monday-Friday 7am-3pm), Swing Shift Receiving Role (Monday-Friday 3pm-11:30pm), and Night Shift (Sunday-Thursday 11pm-7:30am). New hires will complete orientation on the day shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ogden, Utah.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.21 - $20.96/hr.
