Project Overview:

The Infrastructure GBU’s, Renewables & Clean Power business line is pursuing future combined cycle power plant projects. The business line is assembling a proposal team to be based in Reston, VA. Upon successful award, the candidate will mobilize to the project site.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will work with the project team to prepare schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations. The Senior Planner is responsible for schedule development, maintenance, and monitoring activities. You will apply established unit job hour and pricing data, perform schedule integrations, prepare work logic, identify restraints and potential impacts, develop recovery plans, and evaluate subcontractor schedules for improvements. You will be instrumental in ensuring projects stay on track and on time. Supervises planning/scheduling activities when delegated. Ensures work is completed as scheduled. Identifies schedule-associated cost trends for management attention.

Major Responsibilities:

Prepares schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations and may lead work effort

Applies established unit job hour and pricing data for a specific discipline or other specialty including estimating parameters, factors, indices, productivity, and craft distribution reference data

Integrates interdisciplinary schedule requirements and constraints to establish logical work sequences for assigned disciplines or specialties. Works with the performing organizations and units to coordinate work sequences with the total project plan.

Reviews schedule data and identifies and acquires the information needed to complete work logics to interface between assigned disciplines or specialties. Assists in developing specific project codes of accounts and work breakdown structures and recommends appropriate modifications and revisions.

Performs schedule resource loading and leveling

Maintains open communications with other organizations to support schedule maintenance and reporting

Identifies schedule restraints. Identifies and reports activities that have a critical or potential impact on the schedule and prepares and presents the Schedule Impact Report

Develops schedule recovery plans

Evaluates subcontractor schedules for required workarounds or potential schedule improvements.

Prepares project control plans and detailed staffing utilization plans for discipline or specialty activities.

Determines critical-path activities for assigned discipline or specialties and identifies significant activities supporting interdisciplinary requirements. Identifies critical path for discipline or specialty work activities.

Monitors schedule deviation for assigned disciplines or specialties including subcontractor submittals and recommends corrective action/workaround solutions for project considerations.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Experience in delivering large-scale combined cycle power projects.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment, motivating and supporting others.

Demonstrated expert understanding of project controls core processes and procedures including, cost control, planning, risk analysis, estimating, trend reporting and information management.

Technical and practical comprehension of engineering procurement, and construction functions and general business techniques.

Excellent skill in oral and written communication with demonstrated skill to present estimating information to management and client.

Significant experience of leading, managing and organizing teams.

Experience in leading a team of diverse backgrounds and experience towards a single project outcome.
