40% - Perform data entry and materials preparation.

20% - Following observations and assessments, appropriately handle and care for confidential information.

20% - Assist with reports, manuscripts, posters, and other dissemination activities.

10% - Direct observation training and data collection.

10% - Collect and organize paperwork.

Current enrollment in 6+ hours in KU graduate program in applied behavioral sciences, special education, psychology, school psychology or a related field.

Experience working with students in public schools, or community settings; research project must complement student’s studies as evidenced by application materials.

A valid driver’s license is required for this position.

Evidenced ability to travel to schools within the Kansas City/Lawrence/Independence area is required. Required 1-2 days in office hours located at 444 Minnesota Ave Kansas City KS.

Experience collecting direct observation data as evidenced by application materials.

Experience with Video Editing as evidenced by application materials.

A history of manuscript preparation and publication in peer-reviewed journals as evidenced by application materials.

PART TIME position for a graduate research assistant(s) with studies or background in applied behavioral science, special education, psychology, school psychology or related field. The research project focuses on implementing a rural coaching model in elementary & middle school classrooms to enhance classroom management and improve student’s academic performance. The partners in the project will include 120 schools and 480 teachers across rural California, New York, Montana, Minnesota, Tennessee, Texas, and Kansas. We are seeking 1-2 part time graduate research assistant(s) to support full time staff in a variety of grant activities. All offers of employment are contingent upon the satisfactory completion of the background check. Continuation is dependent on yearly funding. Juniper Gardens Children’s Project is located in Kansas City, KS.

Position Requirements

During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).

Employment Conditions

(1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.

(2) A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
