Summary:

This position is responsible for leading and managing a quality team by providing direction/coordination/training/tools needed to ensure product meets defined requirements, while mitigating schedule constraints to ensure compliant product meets schedule demands. The Quality Manager is a change agent that is responsible for fostering an environment of continual improvement and adherence to quality standards and customer requirements. The Quality Manager will develop or update policies, procedures, and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations. The Quality Manager develops, assures, and maintains the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures (e.g., ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D, ISO 14000 family of standards), quality internal or supplier audits/reviews, Taguchi methods, process reengineering, etc. Responsibilities are within the Quality Assurance and Quality Control methods functioning in a combination of disciplines.

Major Position Responsibilities

Supervises programs and activities within the quality assurance functions of the organization

Oversees audit or inspection processes meant to monitor compliance with established quality standards

Administers policies and programs ensuring that organizational products and processes meet established quality standards

Participates in the development, implementation, and administration of an organizational quality management system and monitors progress against strategic quality-related goals

Supervises the work of a team of analysts that collect data identifying potential quality failures, evaluate quality of raw materials or components, in-progress goods, processes or operations, and implement and measure the impact of corrective actions

Solicits internal and external feedback with the goal of continuously improving processes or products

Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & Senior Leadership

Scope of Responsibility may also include:

Manage, lead, direct and mentor the quality team

reviewing and approving timecards and expenditures

approving purchase requisitions

Manage quality budget and resources

Evaluate team performance

Oversee the development of the teams professional skillset

Act as customer liaison for all quality issues/concerns and ensure adequate resolution

Develop and implement quality control systems

Monitor and evaluate processes and product

Manage quality related issues

Lead continuous improvement initiatives

Report on quality performance

Manage quality budget and resources

Support cross functional team initiatives

Ensure compliance to Quality Management System requirements

Basic Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Associate's Degree

OR equivalent combination of relevent education and/or experience

5-7 years experience in a relevant function

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other Engineering-related degree or Quality Management or Business

Relevant Quality Engineering experience within Manufacturing, Military, Aerospace/Aviation, Automotive industry, Commercial industry

ISO9001:2015 Lead auditor or AS9100D Lead Auditor

Six Sigma Green Belt

Certified Quality Engineer

Strong Mechanical Background

Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong computer skills, administrative data control, scheduling and team interface

Strong written, digital and verbal communication skills in both an individual and team environment

Other Requirements:

Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%

Proficiency with MS Office 365 tools

Professional demeanor and presentation skills for frequent customer meetings, presentations
