A day in the life

We are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced leader to serve as our Head of Global Operational Excellence. This is a high-profile, senior leadership role responsible for executing global operational excellence and transformation strategy that aligns with business objectives and promotes sustainable growth. The ideal candidate will leverage their cross-functional mindset to drive innovation, streamline operations, and champion new business growth utilizing expertise in process creation/reimagination.

This role will report directly to our Chief Operating Officer and will be based in either our San Francisco global HQ office or Chicago, IL.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Partner with executive leadership, regional leadership and business unit leadership to influence, identify, and prioritize opportunities for operational transformation.

Act as product owner of the global business planning process by identifying inefficiencies, ensuring alignment between global and business unit goals, improving workflows, and driving continuous improvements across teams to achieve best-in-class excellence.

Design and implement both lean and agile methodologies where appropriate, tailored to unique business needs, focusing on optimizing key value streams.

Organize and lead cross-functional teams to identify process bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for cost reduction, proposing innovative solutions to address these issues.

Modernize Operational Excellence strategy by leveraging AI and other emerging solutions. Establish robust standards, processes, and performance metrics, ensuring consistency and alignment across global teams.

Responsible for driving and measuring organizational data integrity and related KPIs.

Inspire teams to embrace change by communicating a clear and compelling vision. Support executive leadership, regional leadership and business unit leadership in proactively addressing resistance to change and ensure alignment among stakeholders at all levels with a goal of removing siloes.

Be a champion of positive, engaging culture by mentoring and leading a high-performing team with a focus on innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Building Blocks for Success

Required:

Minimum of 10 years in operational leadership across global cross-functional teams, with extensive experience in implementing lean & agile methodologies in one or ideally more of the following industries: automotive, manufacturing, aerospace, consumer goods, logistics/supply chain, energy, industrial operations and/or other multi-channel industry. This experience will also include:

Mastery of lean and agile tools & processes

Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale operational transformations in a global environment

Expertise in managing multi-million-dollar budgets and P&L responsibility

Exceptional ability to influence, collaborate, align and inspire global cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.

Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.

Strategic thinker who can utilize objectivity in problem solving, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and successful business outcomes.

Ability to travel at least 20% of the time.

Preferred:

Six Sigma Black Belt or higher certification.

Hiring Salary Range of: $226,000 - $310,000. Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target & LTI) to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
