Job Summary:

DDC-ITS is seeking qualified and motivated Web Developers to support the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT). This role will provide full lifecycle web development and system administration for AFIT’s public and private websites. The position supports critical mission functions including internal operations, student recruitment, and communications with current and former students.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain dynamic, data-driven web applications in support of AFIT missions.

Manage content and templates for both public-facing and internal AFIT websites.

Analyze business processes and translate functional requirements into technical specifications.

Develop system and application diagrams, workflow charts, and interface documentation.

Create and maintain web applications using ColdFusion, Oracle, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, and jQuery.

Test, debug, and refine web applications to ensure performance, functionality, and user satisfaction.

Maintain and update mobile-compatible applications and responsive content as needed.

Provide weekday application support during standard business hours.

Collaborate with users and stakeholders to gather requirements and develop custom content.

Ensure accessibility standards are met, including Section 508 Compliance and Web 2.0 standards (training provided by AFIT).

Assist with end-user training and provide both program-level and user-facing documentation.

Support the broader goals of AFIT through the development of tools for communication, recruitment, and internal process improvement.

Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience):

U.S. Citizenship and active Secret security clearance (mandatory).

Proficient in Oracle and ColdFusion web programming languages.

Strong experience with front-end and back-end development using:

HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, jQuery

Familiarity with content management systems and web template frameworks.

Experience in system documentation and software lifecycle management.

Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or federal government environments.

Knowledge of accessibility compliance standards (Section 508).

Background in graphic or multimedia software tools.

Understanding of AFIT’s mission or military education systems is a plus.

Work Schedule & Environment:

Full-time, on-site at Wright-Patterson AFB.

Standard business hours, Monday–Friday.

Collaborative environment with direct customer engagement.
