Job Summary:
Provides counseling services to assist patients in overcoming substance use and abuse problems. Counseling may be provided as stand-alone therapy or in combination with therapy in group settings. Responsible for developing and monitoring the patient’s individualized treatment plan progress throughout the course of treatment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Leads individual and group counseling sessions.
Enlists the principles and processes of active listening while assessing the ability, personality, and behavioral and affective disorders of the patient.
Understands and utilizes the knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation to assess and assist patients with chemical dependency.
Works closely with staff Psychiatrist when developing and monitoring individual treatment plans and care coordination.
Provides counseling therapy to patients as appropriate to their individual need.
Consistently maintains a patient panel capacity of greater than 90%.
Participates in professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills in current treatment concepts and methods as required by the State of Oklahoma to maintain licensure.
Job Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in related health field required.
Two (2) or more years’ experience in mental health services counseling with an interest in dependency counseling.
Must pass a State of Oklahoma Background Check
Current BLA/CPR certification.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a professional team.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff and the public.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Required to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
This position has been deemed a” Safety-Sensitive” position; therefore, Morton reserves the right to refuse to hire an applicant or may terminate an employee in a “Safety-Sensitive Position” who tests positive for medical marijuana even if he/she has a valid medical marijuana license.

Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a clinic environment
Must be able to lift a minimum of 15 pounds; and occasionally up to 25 pounds
Must be able to sit, and stand for extended periods of time.
Possess the ability to bend, lift, and climb stairs.
Work may involve some exposures to operating circumstances that require following standard or prescribed safety precautions.
