1. About the Role
We are seeking a Power Plant Operations & Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the safe, reliable, and efficient daily operations of our reciprocating-engine power generation facility. In this role, you will manage on-site personnel, coordinate with an external O&M provider for major maintenance, and ensure full compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
2. Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations: Monitor engine performance, oversee day-to-day production, and ensure high plant availability.
Maintenance Coordination: Work closely with the external O&M provider to schedule and supervise maintenance activities, while handling minor repairs with the on-site team.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, maintain regulatory standards, and keep documentation up to date.
Team Leadership: Manage and develop plant staff, promote collaboration and continuous improvement, and conduct performance reviews.
Budget & Cost Management: Develop and track the operating budget, approve spending, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Performance Optimization: Track KPIs, implement best practices, and drive efficiency improvements in partnership with the O&M provider.
Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with vendors, regulatory agencies, and community representatives. Ensure timely delivery of supplies and fuel.
3. Qualifications
Experience: Several years of power generation or industrial facility experience (reciprocating engines preferred).
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications or vocational training a plus).
Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of engine operation, maintenance, and monitoring systems (SCADA/DCS preferred).
Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage vendor relationships effectively.
4. Working Conditions
Industrial environment with rotating machinery and elevated noise levels.
Possible extended hours or on-call requirements for emergencies.
Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when needed.
Some travel may be required for meetings or training.
