Job Summary: The Stick-Pack Mechanic is responsible for the setup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of
stick- pack packaging machines. Th.is role ensures all machinery operates efficiently and safely to meet production
schedules and quality standards. The mechanic works closely with machine operators, quality assurance, and
maintenance teams to support continuous improvement in equipment performance and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
• Set up, adjust, and fine-tune stick pack machines for various products and packaging formats.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on stick pack machines and related equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and implement timely repairs to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with production and quality teams to ensure proper machine operation and product specifications.
• Replace worn or defective machine parts such as belts, blades, rollers, seals, and sensors.
• Maintain documentation of maintenance activities, downtime reports, and machine performance.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards.
• Recommend process improvements and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Train machine operators on proper machine usage and minor troubleshooting techniques.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience working with pack equipment, Viking and Ropack stick pack preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting s kills.
• Basic electrical knowledge and ability to read schematics and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Good communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions:
• Manufacturing/plant environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
• Requires standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and use of hand tools.
• May involve shift work, overtime, and weekend availability as needed.
