Job Title: IT Configuration Manager, Senior

Onsite Requirement: A couple of days onsite required and travel to different sites.

Job Summary: The IT Configuration Manager, Senior will lead the Configuration Management (CM) process for enterprise-level IT systems, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of configuration data, enforcing CM policies and procedures, and maintaining alignment between configuration items (CIs) and associated documentation. The Configuration Manager will work closely with infrastructure, network, security, application, and service delivery teams to develop and maintain accurate Configuration Management Database (CMDB) records and ensure adherence to ITIL best practices

Key Responsibilities

Establish and enforce enterprise Configuration Management policies, standards, procedures, and tools.

Develop and maintain CMDB data governance frameworks to ensure data integrity, quality, and completeness.

Collaborate with IT teams and business stakeholders to identify, classify, and manage configuration items (CIs), including hardware, software, systems, and cloud-based services.

Ensure the timely and accurate recording, updating, and auditing of CI information across the organization’s computing infrastructure, which includes:

Hardware Platforms: IBM Mainframe, IBM/Dell servers, client workstations (Windows 10 or better, Intel i3+), and virtual systems (VMware, Hyper-V).

Storage: SAN/NAS systems, with backup using Veeam Availability Suite 9.5+

Networking: Cisco-based LAN/WAN infrastructure, wireless, VPN (Cisco), VoIP, firewalls, and remote EVPL circuits.

Cloud Services: Microsoft Azure, Azure Active Directory, Azure Intune, and backup/DR replication.

Interface with teams utilizing platforms and technologies including:

Operating Systems: Windows Server 2016+, Windows 10, MacOS.

Database/Storage: SQL Server 2014/2016+, MongoDB 4.6.2+, disk-to-disk backup.

Application Development: ASP.NET, .NET Framework 4.6.1, Visual Studio, SharePoint (2013/Online), Python, Bootstrap, AngularJS, and ArcGIS JS.

Performance/Monitoring Tools: System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), SCCM, Azure OMS, AppDynamics.

Security Tools: Symantec Endpoint, CrowdStrike, Windows Defender, IDS/IPS, Websense

GIS: ESRI ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server/Desktop 10.6.1, ArcGIS Online.

Oversee change management activities related to CIs:

Facilitate and document Change Control Board (CCB) reviews and approvals.

Track and evaluate impacts of proposed changes to existing configurations.

Ensure traceability between change requests and updated configuration records.

Coordinate with security teams to ensure CM processes support compliance, access control, and cybersecurity standards.

Define and generate CMDB reports and dashboards for stakeholders to support asset tracking, audits, risk analysis, and capacity planning.

Conduct regular CMDB audits and validation against technical environments such as:

Document CM procedures and provide training/guidance to support teams and stakeholders.

Support proof-of-concept testing and quality assurance practices, including UAT, regression, and performance testing in controlled test bed environments simulating production.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

7+ years of experience in IT Configuration Management, with a focus on infrastructure, enterprise systems, and CMDB.

Strong experience working in environments using ITIL-based Service Management frameworks.

ITIL v3 or v4 Certification.

Experience with Microsoft Azure, Active Directory, and Intune.

Familiarity with SharePoint Online/2013, Power BI, and Agile/DevOps methodologies.

Experience with GIS platforms (ArcGIS), identity and access management systems, and security compliance practices.

Experience managing CIs across large, distributed, hybrid environments with on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure (Azure preferred).

Familiarity with tools such as SCCM, ServiceNow, and performance monitoring solutions.

Ability to manage cross-functional relationships and facilitate communication among infrastructure, application, and business teams.

Knowledge of change control processes and production deployment lifecycle.

Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The projected compensation range for this position is $144,500 to $181,700 per year benchmarked in the New York area. The target salary is $164,300 for this role. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. Salary at LCG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to role, location, the combination of education/training, knowledge, skills, competencies, certifications, and work experience.
