Salary: $150-$175K Annually DOE

General Summary

C2X and SunGas Renewables are advancing their $2B+ Beaver Lake Renewable Energy (BLRE) methanol project in central Louisiana. BLRE will produce 500,000 metric tons of low-carbon methanol annually from sustainable wood fiber while sequestering 1 million metric tons of CO2. Now entering FEL-3, the project is planned to start construction in 2026.

Job Overview

The Associate, Project Business Development will support the SVP of Corporate Development in managing multiple workstreams and ensuring the integration and interface management of business, economic, technical, and regulatory objectives. This position is ideal for an engineer with several years of professional experience who also has recently completed an MBA or has up to 3 - 5 years of post-MBA work. The candidate should have a strong interest in developing low carbon biofuels projects.

Work Location

This is a full-time position located in the SunGas offices Monday through Friday. SunGas is located near Fallbrook and W. Sam Houston Parkway N. in Houston. Extended or hybrid remote work options are not available for this position, however we do offer the flexibility to work outside of the office on occasion when necessary.

Primary Responsibilities

Support Leadership: Assist the Project Business Development Leader in managing workstreams (commercial, regulatory, financing, permitting, facility design, public and government affairs).

Integration Management: Help integrate and manage business, economic, technical, and regulatory objectives to ensure project viability, progress toward on-budget and on-time delivery, and long-term success.

Analysis and Reporting: Complete analysis and prepare suitable reports and communications for executive reviews and approvals.

Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of renewable energy markets, including supply and demand dynamics, pricing trends, and regulatory impacts.

Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to support investment decisions and project evaluations.

Strategic Planning: Assist in the development of strategic plans and business cases for new biofuel projects and business initiatives.

Risk Assessment: Evaluate risks associated with biofuel investments and propose mitigation strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry partners, and customers.

Project Management: Participate in the planning and execution of future biofuel projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.

Data Analysis: Utilize advanced data analytics tools to extract insights and inform decision-making processes.

Professional Development: Engage in continuous learning and development opportunities to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
