What does a DSP do?

As a Direct Support Professional, you will care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As outlined in the individual's service plan and implementation strategies, your responsibilities will include supervision, personal care training, active treatment, and medication administration when necessary. You will also ensure the safety and well-being of designated individuals at all times, Ensure self-advocacy training for individuals and ensure informed choices are being offered, and Maintain documentation in compliance with agency and regulatory standards (e.g., individual data sheets, incident reports, etc.), provide input on individual progress and needs for programmatic purposes and more.

What shifts do we have available?:

Residential: Full-time 2nd Shift: Work between 2 PM and 11 PM. Someone in this position will need availability at least every other weekend.

Residential: Full-time 3rd Shift: Work between 10 PM and 9 AM, 10 hours a day, three days a week.

Each of our positions has a set schedule, with the understanding that hands-on training will be during the first shift hours.

What are the minimum job requirements for this position?

Must have a current and valid driver's license with the appropriate car insurance

Provide evidence of a high school diploma/transcripts

Have the ability to pass both Iowa and Illinois background checks

Demonstrate strength and flexibility to assist lifting individuals or provide other individual-related care when needed.

Have a fun and positive attitude to encourage the individuals we serve.
