Description:

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead our Authorization strategy within Workiva’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) team. This role is focused on evolving how users and systems securely access Workiva’s multi-tenant platform, with an emphasis on authorization capabilities that are flexible, scalable, and enterprise-ready.

You’ll define the product vision, roadmap, and success metrics for authorization, partnering closely with engineering, design, product marketing, and security stakeholders to deliver outcomes that are secure, compliant, and customer-centric.

We’re seeking a true product leader who has built and scaled authorization features within complex SaaS environments and can guide cross-functional teams to bring innovative, outcome-driven solutions to life.

What You’ll Do

Own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of core authorization capabilities across Workiva’s platform

Break down complex access control needs into actionable features — from role-based (RBAC) and attribute-based (ABAC) models to policy-based (PBAC), delegated access, and federated identity use cases

Translate technical and compliance needs into business-relevant success metrics (e.g., adoption, revenue impact, user satisfaction)

Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure performant, scalable, and maintainable implementation of authorization services

Partner with Product Marketing and Go-to-Market teams to position and enable Workiva’s access control features as a differentiator for customers

Drive product discovery and validation with internal and external stakeholders, including compliance, security, customer success, and enterprise buyers

What You’ll Need

Minimum Qualifications

6+ years of product management experience in software, with at least 2 years focused on IAM or platform security

Demonstrated success building and launching customer-facing authorization capabilities

Experience implementing SCIM as a product feature

Deep understanding of access control models (RBAC, ABAC, DAC, MAC, PBAC) and identity federation standards (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML)

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with IAM in highly regulated or enterprise SaaS environments

Background in software engineering or technical architecture

Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders, from engineers to executives

Proven record of driving product outcomes (not just outputs), ideally tied to customer impact or revenue growth

Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences

Familiarity with authorization-as-a-service offerings and the broader IAM vendor landscape

MBA or advanced degree in a related field

Travel Requirements & Working Conditions

Willingness to travel up to 20% for team and corporate meetings, fostering relationships and representing company interests

Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, as we embrace flexible work arrangements

How You’ll Be Rewarded

Salary range in the US: $129,000.00 - $207,000.00

A discretionary bonus typically paid annually

Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire

401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits package

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and other relevant factors.
