The Opportunity

Williams International is looking for an experienced Industrial Engineer to act as the quality representative on a product development team. The individual will drive increased quality into the product and process using an Advanced Product Quality Planning approach to development similar to the automotive industry. The individual will be passionate about continuous improvement and eager to take actions to achieve it.

Additionally, the Quality Engineer will:

Collaborate with product development teams to improve design and manufacturing quality with the goal of preventing late-stage issues. Use tools such as D/P FMEA, Process Flow Mapping, Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis, and Process Capability Studies to enhance First Time Quality.

Initiate and support the implementation of process improvements that are identified during the APQP process.

Support the product development team by communicating quality status to management and external customers.

Partner with Manufacturing to implement effective gage/ inspection strategies.

Mentor the product development teams on the use and application of quality tools.

Lead the product development team in problem solving

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering is preferred. Mechanical Engineering or other related fields will also be considered.

Practical job knowledge obtained in a manufacturing environment and skills gained with 10 years of Manufacturing / Quality Engineering.

Demonstrated use of tools such as FMEA, MSA, and capability studies.

Experience with statistical analysis and process validation.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Proficiency with gage usage.

Experience with problem solving tools such as Shainin/ Red X, fault tree, fishbone, 5 Why.

Demonstrates a commitment for learning / gaining new skills.

Positive can-do attitude

Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100 / 9145, AS13100, and AIAG APQP – PPAP standards is required.

Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, VISIO) and have some statistical analysis background.

Candidate must have evidence of strong verbal and written communication skills.

U.S. citizenship is required.

Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed.
