JOB SUMMARY
Assist with the development and maintenance of visual and interaction designs and usability standards of the Application Development group; ensure consistency and continuity across assigned software applications.
POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Craft and implement visual designs, including CSS layouts and UI components, aligned with established brand themes and design systems.
Assist with the creates and maintains IT usability and interaction design standards ensuring consistency across a variety of software applications.
Assist with user research via contextual inquiries (in-person observations & interviews) with target users to understand their mental models and behaviors.
Assist with the creation of models, task flows, and related design documentation.
Assist with the development of user personas and scenarios to clarify results of user research.
Generate full screen inventories and wire frames.
Collaboratively develop prototypes for the demonstration of conceptualized solutions.
Conduct usability testing, assisting with the development of recommendations based results.
Work on a project team to provide user experience and interaction and visual design input for application development projects.
Complete other projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Must possess knowledge of user-centered design methods and techniques in user research and usability testing.
Possess basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript for enhancing user interactions and creating dynamic content.
Basic understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and their implementation in design and code.
Must possess effective analytical and intuitive abilities.
Effectively interface with external contacts, Brotherhood employees, managers, and department staff members.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
List Degree Requirement, Years' Experience, and Certifications
An Associate's degree in design-related discipline, Information Technology or equivalent degree required.
Bachelor's degree in design-related discipline, Information Technology or equivalent degree is desired.
One or more years of experience in web development, including working with JavaScript-based UI libraries or tools, is preferred.
Exposure to and understanding of insurance industry is desired.
