About the department

The Global Medical Affairs department reports directly to the Executive Vice President for Product & Portfolio Strategies.

In Global Medical Affairs, we exist to improve patient lives. We lead the scientific exchange between patients, Healthcare Providers, payers, and the industry at large. The position

As the Corporate Vice President (CVP) of Global Medical Affairs (GMA) for the medical teams working with Diabetes, Cardiovascular, and Alzheimer's Disease, your role will involve representing the full Global Medical Affairs value chain and ensuring that medical affairs strategies are aligned with therapeutic area strategies. You will be working closely with the CVP responsible for the MASH and obesity therapy areas and ensure enterprise and portfolio perspectives are seamlessly thought into our strategies and ways of working.

You will be reporting to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Global Medical Affairs. The position is in Denmark and weekly on-site presence is required. We hope you are open to relocate to Denmark if you do not already live here.

As Corporate Vice President you will

• Inspire, lead and develop an organisation of 60+ employees, acting as a role model and fostering cross-functional collaboration

• Oversee all Medical Affairs strategies, activities and deliverables within the Diabetes, Cardiovascular, and Alzheimer’s Disease therapeutic areas.

• Be responsible for aligning strategies in close partnership with the CVP for Obesity, MASH, and Liver Diseases as the Novo Nordisk portfolio is tightly interlinked

• Represent Global Medical Affairs in relevant forums, ensuring close partnership with colleagues in operations to set direction for the worldwide Medical Affairs organisation

• Ensure medical footprint into therapy area and commercial strategies based on medical and patient insights

• Be accountable for FTE and budget for strategic activities

• Act as a liaison between Novo Nordisk and global key opinion leaders and professional associations.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

• An advanced degree in a relevant field – MD (preferred) or PhD, PharmD.

• A proven track record of successfully leading and developing a high-performing global medical affairs function, ideally in a similar complex, global matrix environment

• At least 10 years of clinical and pharmaceutical development and business experience with strong experience in drug development and direction setting in scientific/clinical practices and communications, in pharma marketing law/guidance adherence and in business ethics & compliance

• Broad experience across Clinical Drug Development, Medical Affairs, Commercial/Business Development and Affiliate or Regional functions is an advantage. Good cultural understanding and in-depth knowledge of various medical communities and regulatory agencies around the globe.

• Fluency in both spoken and written English.
