About the Role
As a Senior Hosting Systems Engineer, you will:
Design, install, maintain, test, and configure hosting systems, including hardware, network, and software infrastructure components
Monitor system performance and security while fine-tuning parameters to optimize functionality
Maintain hypervisor infrastructure for internal and customer-facing components
Recommend and implement procedures for effective resource utilization in capacity planning
Educate customers on virtual resource usage and tailor solutions to their needs
Coach junior team members and review their work, fostering growth within the team

This is a remote position.
The budgeted annual salary that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $73,176 - $75,000.

What We're Looking For:
Education and Experience Needed:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field required
A minimum of four (4) years of related IT experience below:
At least three (3) years of systems administrator experience in a LAN networking/distributed computing environment supporting operating systems or enterprise infrastructure systems required
At least three (3) years of experience supporting enterprise systems involving components designed for service delivery to customer bases in excess of 1000 client systems
Enterprise experience will include supporting interoperation of servers, storage, and networking infrastructure underlying complex multi-tiered applications
VMware ESX, Nutanix AHV, or other hypervisor experience
An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be accepted
Skills Needed:
Combination of enterprise experience in storage administration, network administration, systems monitoring, and capacity planning
Advanced knowledge of complex multi-tiered computer operations
A record of successfully influencing and technically contributing, at a high level and as part of a team, to projects that are difficult and complex
Advanced knowledge of complex multi-tiered computer operations
Self- motivation and the ability to work with limited supervision on daily tasks and projects
Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills
Preferred:
Ability to learn and use programming and scripting languages used in the automation, design, and maintenance of systems administration
Experience with:
ITIL frameworks
ITSM tooling
