Communication Intern
Rate of pay: $15.00/hour, maximum 10 hours/week
Timeframe: June 2 – August 15, 2025, with possible renewal for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026
Position Summary:
Must be a Purdue Student. The purpose of this position is to support the Office of Experiential Education in promoting experiential education activities on campus. This position will write articles for the Office newsletter and website. This position will also manage the Office social media accounts.
Responsibilities:
Create stories about experiential education partnerships, projects, and events on and off campus, e.g. interviewing faculty, staff, students, writing articles, editing of stories
Support administration of student grant and scholarship programs
Create social media content for Instagram, LinkedIn, and X
Assist with communication efforts to students, faculty, and staff about ExEd Launchpad, the Office’s experiential education platform
Interview faculty/staff about experiential education programs to collect data about the experiences
Support and attend key office events, activities, and committees
Assist with experiential education data entry into the office’s tracking platform
Preferred Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills
Evidence of outstanding project management and organizational skills
Collaborates and works well in a team environment
Experience with experiential education activities
Comfort with corresponding with and interviewing faculty/staff
Proficiency in digital media, web-based newsletter platforms, Microsoft Word and Excel
Office Location:
Hybrid, with office space in Young Hall
