Job Description
The Service Mechanic - Diesel is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, servicing, and repairing pumping and support equipment in a safe and efficient manner at our Service Shop, Customer job site or via phone. Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, servicing and operation of diesel equipment.
Troubleshoot diesel engine and pump problems.
Perform an initial inspection of fleet equipment for possible damages; diagnose damages; report damages to Service Manager.
Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality.
Assist with setting up pumping systems on customer job sites as needed. Assist with start-up duties and ensure any problems are resolved.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Diesel experience and/or training or combination of education, training and experience
General diesel engine component location and identification
Diagnosing basic mechanical problems
Thorough understanding of the methods, materials, tools and techniques used in equipment repair and maintenance.
Safety practices and procedures
Basic mechanical aptitude
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and managers both verbally and in writing.
Valid driver’s license with good driving record
: In this role, the working environment may be frequently outdoors, weather extremities, use of PPE, exposures to hazardous material, loud noise, etc. and the physical demands may include but not limited to {regularly sitting, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs. In addition, this role may require frequent travel to customer sites and on-call as a regular part of the job. Standard weekly job hours: 40 hours.
