Mechanical Engineer I

Position location: Nottingham, MD.

Mistral, Inc. is in need of a Mechanical Engineer with 0-3 years of experience.

Headquartered in Bethesda Maryland, Mistral Inc. is a member of the Mistral Group, a team of independent companies, each operating in different markets worldwide, while collectively sharing the mission of "Bridging" operational gaps in the Defense and Law Enforcement markets with practical, innovative, and high readiness solutions.

This is a high-profile, hands-on position, which requires working with global teams.

Position Definition: The Mechanical Engineer I will support business activities of the Business Unit(s) and complete assigned engineering tasks for R&D projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Draft, modify, and update parts, assemblies, and drawings using SolidWorks

Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)

Prepare and complete engineering change order packages

Create and refine technical, mechanical parts and assembly drawings/models to accurately capture design intent

Provide peer and technical reviews of engineering designs and engineering-related documentation produced by others

Support floor with needed documentation and take any feedback that they provide

Develop DXF files to be used by the floor in the manufacturing process

Utilizing the SolidWorks database; update drawings as needed, move data from other platforms to SolidWorks (i.e., Inventor)

Control and management of Technical Data Packages using SolidWorks, Microsoft Office, and ERP system inventory and manufacturing tools

Other duties as directed by management

Essential Education, Skills and Requirements:

BS in Mechanical Engineering

Proficiency using SolidWorks, knowledge of Inventor is a plus

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Experience designing products using plastic, metal, or wood is highly preferred

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Ability to comprehend and follow directions

Ability to work independently and with a team

Must have a can-do attitude and an ability to think outside of the boxCompany Description
