Job Summary:

Kovitz Shifrin Nesbit is growing! A well-established and leading law firm specializing in the representation of homeowner, condominium, and community associations is seeking an Associate Attorney with 0-2 years of experience, for our Indianapolis office. Qualified candidates must be licensed in Indiana. Trial advocacy or litigation experience is a plus. Mediation and arbitration experience is preferred but not required.

Associate will handle small claims court appearances, trials, and drafting of legal documents. Knowledge of the Indiana Homeowners Association Act and/or the Indiana Condominium Act preferred but not required. Knowledge and/or experience with Landlord-Tenant law preferred but not required.

The starting salary for this position is $85,000, contingent upon level of experience. Business hours for this exempt position are 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. This is a fully on-site position, and remote work is not available.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Attend court appearances on behalf of clients throughout Indianapolis and the surrounding counties.

· Draft pleadings and briefs, draft and respond to written discovery, and conduct depositions.

· Provide litigation status updates to clients.

· Advise clients on all aspects of the collection procedure, including settlement.

· Travel throughout the Indianapolis metro area required.

· Any other duties as necessary or required.
