Immediate W2 contract position available in Euharlee, GA.

Estimated Duration: 1 year

Desired Qualifications:

· The Mechanical Engineer SR 1 position requires 10+ years of related experience and an accredited bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.

· A professional engineer license is desired.

Job Responsibilities:

· Mechanical engineering designs on small and medium retrofit, environmental and new generation projects.

· Leading in conducting mechanical design activities including pipe sizing and routing, material selection, pipe support design, valve selection, P&ID development, equipment layout, equipment specifications, and hydraulic calculations.

· Developing datasheets for valves and other equipment.

· Providing technical direction to designers.

· Developing project scopes, schedules and budgets.

· Making sound independent decisions with minimal information.

· Assisting in checkout and startup of systems when necessary.

Required Skillsets and Expertise:

· Significant experience with design of new construction and/or retrofit of power generation or heavy industrial facilities and the ability to take the lead role for detailed design activities.

· Significant knowledge of mechanical engineering design principles.

· Proficiency with applicable codes, standards and regulatory requirements.

· Experience in development, preparation and checking of P&IDs.

· Experience with overall design and layout of piping systems, pipe sizing and routing, material selection, pipe support design, equipment selection, preparation of inquiry packages/data sheets, and specification of tanks, pumps, and balance of plant equipment.

· Experience with hydraulic calculations.

· Pipe-Flo (or similar software) experience is preferred.

· Significant working knowledge of processes equipment including piping, valves (manual/control/relief), pumps, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers.

· Experience with relief valve and control sizing.

· The ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.Company Description
