Job Description
We are a large commercial electrical contractor. We specialize in indoor electrical construction and maintenance, including complete design build construction, for agencies, utilities, and private enterprises.
Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed, accurate, and competitive cost estimates for a variety of electrical construction projects.
Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, and construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction.
Review material and labor requirements, to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
Establish and maintain tendering process, and conduct negotiations.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience in electrical estimating or a related field.
Strong understanding of electrical construction processes.
Proven experience in project management.
Ability to read and understand electrical plans and specifications.
Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
